2011 COLLEGE RESULTS

Pierrepont's two graduating seniors have chosen to attend Columbia University and The Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University.

2011 NATIONAL LATIN EXAM RESULTS

Latin I-V Exams. Of the thirty students at this level, sixteen were awarded Gold Medals and Summa Cum Laude certificates, the highest award. Five were awarded Silver Medals and Maxima Cum Laude certificates, the second highest award. Two received a Magna Cum Laude certificate and two a certificate of Cum Laude. One student had a perfect score.

Introduction to Latin Exam. Of the six students at this level, two had a perfect score, three were awarded Ribbons and Certificates of Outstanding Achievement, the highest award for this level of the test. One student was awarded Certificate of Achievement.

2011 CHESS TEAM RESULTS

The chess team placed second in the New York State Scholastic Championships, February 2–27, 2011, in the Junior High Championship section, the most competitive Junior High category, and one of our students placed first individually. The New York State Championships is one of the most competitive State Championships in the nation, as New York teams frequently win the national championships. Edging Pierrepont out for first by only a slim margin was legendary IS 318, a chess dynasty with dozens of student players based in Manhattan. Our result this weekend makes us very proud and we look forward to many successes ahead!

2011 MATHCOUNTS RESULTS

Pierrepont took first place in the Southwest Connecticut chapter Mathcounts competition on Saturday, February 12th, competing against twenty-two private and public schools and sixty individuals from our area.

We are delighted to report that three of our students placed in the top ten out of the 148 students who competed. Those students have advanced to the state round. They will compete on Saturday, March 12th at the University of Hartford.
